Dylan Moran, star and creator of ABC TV’s ‘Black Books’ is back with a brand new show – ‘What It Is’. He’ll be performing at Burswood Theatre on Friday 24 April 2009.
Moran’s legendary stand up rants have sold out across the world, cementing this unkempt wordsmith’s reputation as one of the foremost comics of his generation. His big screen appearances have included ‘Run Fat Boy Run’ and ‘Shaun Of The Dead’.
Likened to Dave Allen and labeled ‘The Oscar Wilde of comedy’ Dylan is unpredictable, bizarre, elegiac, often cruel but above all painfully funny. Moran sees through the joys and disappointments of human existence with the sensibility and intense perception of a man teetering on the edge. He chews life up and coughs it out…

Propagandhi perform at Capitol in Perth on Wednesday 25 Febuary 2009.
Propagandhi are finally dragging their politically charged punk rock arses back to Australia. If you’ve ever set ears on this band you know you will be there! It has only been 11 years since they last turned themselves loose upon us. So were they lazy? Did they not care? Maybe they crave forgiveness – this tour takes in more cities than most. Enjoy while you can…
Tickets on sale Friday 12 December from 78’s, Blue Murder, Bocs Ticketing and Moshtix for $38.70.

The Phantom of the Opera will be performed at Burswood Theatre from Sunday 1 February to Sunday 15 March 2009.
Having played to more than 80 million people in 124 cities around the world, this full-scale production directed by Harold Prince is arguably the most popular musical of all time.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sweepingly romantic score includes Music of the Night and Think of Me, and will be performed by a stellar Australian cast. The Phantom of the Opera tells the story of a disfigured musical genius, known only as ‘The Phantom’, who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House.
Mesmerised by the talents and beauty of a young soprano – Christine, the Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine’s love for Raoul, The Phantom’s obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealously, madness and passions collide.
Tickets on sale now from Ticketek.
Cold War Kids return to Australia and perform at Metropolis Fremantle on Monday 2 February 2009.
Nathan Willett (lead vocals, piano, guitar), Jonnie Russell (guitar, vocals, percussion), Matt Maust (bass guitar), and Matt Aveiro (drums) formed in 2004 and released their debut album Robbers & Cowards in 2006.
The album won Australian fans & radio over with singles such as ‘Hang Me Out To Dry’ and ‘Hospital Beds’. With multiple songs in triple j’s Hottest 100 and sell-out tours in Australia (including Splendour In The Grass) and across the world, Cold War Kids released sophomore album Loyalty to Loyalty in 2008. It became the group’s first Australian Top 20 album, and featured singles ‘Something Is Not Right With Me’ and ‘Mexican Dogs’ which both received high rotation on triple j.
Their music is said to be heavily inspired by artists such as Jeff Buckley, Bob Dylan and Velvet Underground.
Tickets through BOCS available from Monday 15 December.

Wiley, the godfather of UK grime is headed to Australia and will perform in Perth on Friday 16 January at the Rosemount Hotel.
Arguably the most influential musician on the UK Grime scene, Wiley has been either directly responsible for or indirectly influenced the careers of nearly every artist to come through the scene. Whether it’s producing beats for, or nurturing younger talent like Tinchy Stryder, JME, Skepta, Doctor, Jammer and most notably Dizzee Rascal, or being involved in memorable clashes with sparring partners such as Lethal B, Kano, Durrty Goodz, Sharky Major, Bashy and Nasty Jack, Wiley has influenced a large number of artists who have gone on to make their mark in the Grime scene.
Crossing over to the mainstream and scoring a massive hit both in the UK and in Australia with the track Wearing My Rolex, Wiley has brought his unique Eski Beat sound to the world and cemented himself as one of the most innovative producers in British electronic music.
Tickets on sale 11 December from BOCS for $47.90.

Norway’s Satyricon perform at Capitol on 24 March 2009.
Satyricon are a rare exception to the Black Metal norm – they never cared for trends in how one is supposed to present oneself and abhorred the tried and tested genre stereotypes.
What became apparent on previous album Now, Diabolical is now a dark truth on new album The Age Of Nero, their second through Roadrunner Records.
Largely written in a remote cabin deep in the Norwegian woods, the guitars have been seriously downtuned, adding to the raw power of the sound.
Tickets on sale from 5 December from Heatseeker for $49.50 + booking fee.
