pierre_bensusanFairbridge Festival is an annual family-friendly celebration of folk, roots, blues, acoustic, celtic, a capella and world music in a traffic-free, self-contained bushland site at Fairbridge Village, which is about an hour south of Perth, near Pinjarra.

This year the festival is held from 17 to 19 April.

Legendary French guitar guru Pierre Bensusan heads up a lineup of world-class international artists from Canada, USA, Denmark, Germany, England and Guinea, mixing it up with the hottest Australian world music acts.

peter_combeWith arguably the best kid’s festival in Australia, perennial “King of the Kids”, Peter Combe, heads up an action-packed program. And there’s an exciting new element to the youth program.

SHOW TONIGHT CANCELLED

Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the promoter’s control, tonight’s Necro show at Perth’s Hyde Park Ballroom has had to be cancelled.

An incident in Perth this afternoon has led to Australian police detaining Necro until his scheduled court appearance tomorrow, Friday June 5th.

Refunds are available from point of purchase. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the promoter, rescheduling the concert isn’t possible. Both Necro and the promoter regret disappointing fans.

Necro returns to Australia and performs at the Hyde Park Hotel in Perth on Thursday 4 June 2009.

Brooklyn born and raised rapper Necro started off by playing guitar in bands until 1990. It would be the influence of his older brother Ill Bill (an acclaimed artist in his own right) who would switch his interest towards hip hop music.
Over the past decade, Necro has established himself as one of the most successful crossover artists from the hip-hop genre and is now also a massive cult figure amongst fans of metal and hardcore music thanks to his controversial, brutal lyrical content.

Tickets on sale from 78 Records, Bocs Ticketing and Moshtix.com.au for $44.00 + booking fee.
