The Waifs announce a series of summer shows throughout WA in January 2009, with Ani DiFranco and Mama Kin!

Mundaring Weir Summer Festival in the Forest is on again at Mundaring Weir Hotel in the Perth Hills.
From 22 November through to 28 February the following concerts will be held:

All concerts start at 8pm.
The café opens at 5pm for counter meals including wood fired Pizza. You are also welcome to bring a picnic platter. Drinks are available from several bars. Two or three winemakers will be displaying their wines for tasting. You cannot bring your own soft drinks, alcoholic drinks or any glass.

Kasey Chambers returns to WA, and performs at Belvoir Amphitheatre on 27 December, Mandurah Foreshore on 28 December and at Leeuwin Estate Winery near Margaret River on 30 December 2008.

The Audreys and Katy Steele will also be performing!

Riding high on the success of a sold out East Coast tour and the ARIA #1 album collaboration with Shane Nicholson Rattlin’ Bones, Kasey Chambers and her full band featuring Shane Nicholson and Bill Chambers finally head West for three outdoor concerts in WA’s three best outdoor venues between Christmas and New Years Eve.

Kasey will be performing songs from this gorgeous latest album Rattlin’ Bones as well as past hits from her impressive multi-platinum back catalogue. To add to the festive spirit and to take this holiday music treat up a notch – Kasey has also invited The Audreys and Katy Steele (Little Birdy) along for the trip.

Breakfest, the Boxing Day dance festival at Belvoir Amphitheatre in the Swan Valley has been announced!

The festival is all ages, but camping only for 18+.

The Avon Descent is a two day, 134km race down the Avon and Swan Rivers (Northam to Perth) in a variety of paddle and power craft.
There are numerous spectator viewing points, and some festivals in the towns along the way and start and finish spots!

Sandalford Winery – City of Swan Picnic in the Park with lots of entertaiment – Paddlers from about 11.30am and Power Boats from about 1.10pm.
Finish Line – Riverside Gardens, Bayswater – from 11.30am – lots of entertainment, screens, ‘community day’. Presentations commence at 4.00pm in the main marquee arena!

The Wave Rock Weekender, a small camping and music festival held at Wave Rock (a few hundred km’s east of Perth) is on again in 2008, held from Saturday 27 September to Monday 29 September (Queens Birthday public holiday).

Wave Rock Weekender is……

– not an English country garden festival or sports oval event – it’s in beautiful salty, scrubby, bushy Australia on the edge of the desert featuring; prehistoric rock formations, eerie salt plains, shiny salmon gums, wildflowers and big, big sky. Let the music bring it alive.

WestdaleWestdale Rock is being held again on Saturday 25 October 2008 in Westdale, which is located about an hour and a half east of Perth.

Gates open at 7:00am on Saturday, and the last band performs at dawn on Sunday 26 October. There is overnight camping available, and it’s an outside concert.

Food available to buy, byo alcohol (no glass), 18+.
