2009 Hola Mexico Film Festival

A cinematic taste of Mexico heads to Perth in December with the arrival of the Hola Mexico Film Festival. The Festival, which will be in Perth for its second year, will screen a selection of fifteen Mexican films at Cinema Paradiso from 10 – 16 December.

Among the festival’s films, the opening night film, the thriller Sin Nombre (Without Name), premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Also showing is Sexo, pudor y lagrimas (Sex, shame and tears), a blockbuster comedy which broke Mexican box office records; and the drama Voy a explotar (I’m gonna explode), which screened at the New York and Toronto film festivals in 2008.

The Opening Night Fiesta, featuring Sin Nombre and the after party at Oliver’s Restaurant, starts 6.30pm at Cinema Paradiso, Northbridge on Thursday 10 December. Visit www.holamexicoff.com for more details.
