2015 Whalebone Longboard Classic

Over 60 competitors will be bringing the romance and retro-cool of longboard surfing to Isolators at Cottesloe Beach, south of the groin, for the World Surf League Whalebone Classic. Spectators are invited to come and experience this fun free event, which attracts a stellar line-up of competitors who vary in age from 16 to 66. These competitors will surf Cottesloe’s legendary winter waves in an effort to secure title honours in 14 different categories including professional, under 18s, over 40s, 50s, 60s, Old Mal (surfboards made pre 1967) and open loggers.

The competition is held from July 10 – 12, with competitors only taking to the waves on the days that produce the best conditions as determined by the judges.
